Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with a strong background in medical billing, coding, and insurance processes. You will process claims, code procedures, and communicate with patients and payers to ensure timely reimbursement.

The role includes cost estimation, working with EHR/EMR systems, and resolving claim denials. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience, CPC/CCS certification, and proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.

Qualifications

• Must have CPC or CCS certification or equivalent.
• 2+ years of medical billing, coding, and insurance follow-up experience.
• Proficiency with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic/Meditech/PrognoCis).
• Familiarity with payer reimbursement guidelines and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and third-party payers.
• Code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Generate cost estimates based on insurance coverage and contracts.
• Verify billing data accuracy in EHR/EMR before submission.
• Utilize EHR/EMR platforms for documentation, coding and billing workflows.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies or denials.
• Prepare and submit insurance appeals per payer guidelines.
• Communicate billing questions to patients and explain coverage.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
• Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
