Job summary

Housecall Providers Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to support homebound clients with administrative and clinical tasks. The role collaborates with the primary care team to ensure accurate care coordination, timely follow-up, and thorough documentation.

A strong emphasis is placed on HIPAA compliance, patient confidentiality, and effective communication with patients, families, and clinicians. The MA will perform clerical duties, coordinate referrals, and assist with orders while

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and patient care.
• Detailed understanding of EMR workflows and updating records regularly.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations.
• Ability to perform clerical tasks, patient procedures, and use clinical equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Excellent customer service, professionalism, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Complete outgoing calls to patients after discharge to meet regulatory requirements.
• Contact patients, families, and caregivers per clinician instruction for coordination of care.
• Link patients with community resources and social worker support for home-based care.
• Assist clinicians with referrals, tests, and orders, including home health and diagnostics.
• Support clinical team with patient panels and continuity of care.
• Obtain prior authorizations and communicate hospitalizations or visits to clinicians.
• Document all patient interactions in the medical record in a timely manner.
