Job summary

Ascend Medical is seeking a Medical Assistant to support care navigators and patient interactions across telehealth and in-clinic activities. You will document clinical information in our EMR, triage patients, and help prepare them for examinations.

Ideal candidates have a Medical Assistant program certificate, 2+ years of MA experience, CPR current, and CCMA is a plus. We offer a flexible, patient-centered environment with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR equivalent healthcare preparation is required.
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years MA experience in healthcare setting.
• Must be current in CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Book telehealth appointments, triage patients virtually, and record patient interview, history & chief complaint using Ascend’s EMR.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with referrals and procedures, explaining treatments and physician instructions.
• Work with the Care Coordinator to ensure care plans and follow-up appointments are arranged.
• Organize inbound/outbound communications: calls, chats, and emails as assigned.
• Educate new and existing members about Ascend Medical services and help navigate health insurance benefits.
