Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to translate policy into actionable decisions within an integrated eligibility platform. You will collaborate across product, design, and engineering to ensure compliant, user-centered outcomes in government services.

The role emphasizes Medicaid policy analysis, independent research, and adapting guidance into practical recommendations with cross-functional teams. Remote-friendly with government-facing impact.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of policy analysis experience or relevant graduate-level education
• Experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or agency guidance
• Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication in technical and policy contexts
• Ability to document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly and concisely
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy (applications, verifications, renewals, notices, appeals)
• Experience with agile delivery and human-centered design processes
• Graduate degree in public policy, public administration, or related field
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship required
• May be subject to government background check or security clearance

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy findings to improve program processes, operations, or technology
• Identify policy questions, propose approaches, and progress when scope is not defined
• Policy translation and implementation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences
• Identify regulatory constraints, risks, and ambiguities and propose compliant solutions
• Develop policy briefs, decision frameworks, and process flows to support decisions
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation, including scenario testing
• Conduct landscape and cross-jurisdictional research on evolving policies and implications for implementation, tech, and engagement
• Build relationships with external partners to exchange implementation lessons and create opportunities to share Nava’s policy expertise
