Job summary

Nava PBC is seeking a Policy Strategist to translate Medicaid policy into actionable recommendations and guide teams across product, design, and engineering. You will research federal and state requirements, identify priorities, and shape implementation directions for an integrated eligibility platform.

You will stay current on policy trends and ensure systems are compliant while improving user experiences and program operations. This is a remote-friendly role within the United States.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or guidance and applying analysis to decisions.
• Ability to develop research plans and synthesize analyses into actionable recommendations.
• Experience translating policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Hands-on experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy.
• Familiarity with agile delivery and human-centered design processes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy findings and translate into practical recommendations for programs and systems.
• Identify policy questions, set priorities, and guide teams lacking policy background.
• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align policy with product and engineering.
• Identify regulatory constraints and ambiguities; propose balanced solutions.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation with scenarios and edge cases.
• Conduct landscape research on evolving policies and implications for tech and engagement.
• Build relationships with external partners to exchange implementation lessons.
