Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc in Paducah, KY seeks a Kentucky-licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) to support DOE facility modification projects. This is a remote position with travel to Paducah as needed, focusing on piping, pumps, equipment, and related mechanical systems.

The role requires a PE, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, DOE experience, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver design documentation, specifications, and field support at the Paducah

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky PE license required and DOE project experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Experience developing design products: specs, calculations, drawings.
• Experience supporting DOE facility modification projects and field visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support for DOE facility modification projects.
• Develop and review specifications, calculations, evaluations, and design drawings.
• Support piping runs to new facilities and equipment replacement tasks.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide design input for installation and start-up.
• Coordinate with project managers and staff to support deliverables and field needs.
• Ensure compliance with design codes, site procedures, and QA requirements.
• Participate in field visits and project meetings at Paducah facilities.
