Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a Kentucky-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil/Structural discipline to support DOE facility modification work in Paducah, KY. This is a remote role with travel to Paducah as needed.

The engineer will evaluate existing structures, develop civil/structural design documentation, and support field visits or project meetings. DOE experience and ability to work in regulated environments are required.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or closely related field.
• Experience developing civil/structural design products: specs, calculations, evaluations, and drawings.
• Department of Energy (DOE) experience is required.
• Experience in industrial, nuclear, environmental, or other complex regulated facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural engineering support for DOE facility modification projects.
• Develop and review civil/structural specifications, calculations, and drawings.
• Evaluate structural conditions, design requirements, and constructability considerations.
• Apply seismic loads and civil/structural codes to design tasks.
• Ensure compliance with site procedures, QA, safety, and radiological control requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, leads, client reps, and staff.
