Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Plant Systems Engineering to develop design requirements for BOS mechanical systems and provide oversight to design partners on projects. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve design challenges and execute work to support project scope.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
• Active PE license in applicable engineering discipline is desirable but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time professional experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
• Experience with design and operation of balance of plant process and fluid systems (HVAC, waste systems, feedwater, main steam, water systems).
• Understanding of NRC regulations and guidelines related to nuclear systems and balance of plant systems.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME BPVC, EPRI.

Responsibilities

• Supports development of design requirements and BOS system designs integration into the plant architecture.
• Provides technical oversight to design partners on BOS system designs for projects.
• Prepares and reviews engineering documents to support project work.
• Plans, organizes, and performs complex assignments in a team environment.
• Engages with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate design activities and resolve technical problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
