Job summary

Protingent Staffing is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Plant Systems) for a fully remote contract role focusing on BOS electrical and I&C system design for nuclear facilities. The engineer will develop design requirements, provide oversight, and work with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues and support project scope.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience (or 3+ years with advanced degree), and familiarity with NRC regulations and

Qualifications

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university is required.
• An active PE license is desirable but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant full-time experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
• Experience in design and operation of AC power systems across multiple voltage classes and electrical components (motors, switchgears, breakers).
• Experience with process I&C systems and components (instrumentation, radiation monitoring).
• Understanding NRC regulations, IEEE, NFPA and related codes; experience reviewing deliverables from contractors.

Responsibilities

• Supports development of design requirements and BOS integration into plant architecture and project plans.
• Provides technical oversight to design partners for BOS electrical and I&C systems.
• Prepares and reviews technical documents to support project work.
• Plans, organizes, and performs assignments in a team environment.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate design activities and resolve technical problems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
