Job summary

NuScale Power is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead NSSS component design, inspection, and testing for the nuclear steam supply system. You will review complex systems, prepare engineering specifications, and mentor junior engineers within a cross-functional team.

The role requires ten years of nuclear experience, strong technical writing and communication, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary design challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) required.
  • Professional engineer license (P.E.) in Mechanical/Nuclear is desirable but not required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of full-time nuclear experience.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ASME Codes and 10 CFR 50; nuclear licensing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NSSS component design, inspection and testing activities.
  • Prepare and review engineering specifications and drawings for NSSS systems.
  • Act as subcontract technical lead for vendor design of NSSS components.
  • Mentor staff and provide technical direction in NSSS design.
  • Coordinate with licensing in domestic and international regulatory efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with NuScale safety culture.
