Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an HVAC design professional to join our multi-disciplinary team in Arlington, VA. You will design ductwork, piping, select equipment, and perform energy modeling for educational, healthcare, corporate, and science/technology projects.

You will produce Revit/BIM drawings from schematic through construction, participate in owner meetings, and ensure design conformance with codes and specifications. ABET-credited degree and 4+ years experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in ABET-accredited program
• Minimum of 4 years related experience
• EIT/FE in the United States preferred
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with engineering design software (Revit/Trane Trace/Trane 3D Plus) required

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, equipment selection for small to mid-size projects
• Perform heating/cooling load calculations and energy modeling
• Create Revit/BIM construction drawings from schematic to construction phase
• Review shop drawings for specification conformance
• Interface with clients and project team in meetings
• Assist with RFIs and change orders
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and progress
