Job summary

CannonDesign in Arlington, VA seeks an HVAC Design Professional to contribute to piping design, equipment selection, and building load calculations under engineer supervision. You will use Revit/BIM to model HVAC systems from schematic design to construction administration and assist with energy models as needed.

Requirements include a bachelor or master in engineering (ABET preferred), at least 2 years of related experience, and proficiency with Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience.
• EIT/FE in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to effectively handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design piping and equipment selection for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Prepare Building Load Calculations using modeling software.
• May prepare energy models using appropriate software with supervisory oversight.
• Model HVAC using Revit/BIM from schematic design to construction administration.
• Assist with editing specifications and respond to RFIs and change orders.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for contract compliance.
• May perform site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
