Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a highly experienced Master Network & Security Engineer to lead the design, operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of enterprise network-security infrastructure. This role covers Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, High Availability, Cisco switching, network segmentation, Cortex XSIAM, and Strata Logging Service.

The Senior Engineer will serve as a technical escalation point for complex network and security incidents, lead architecture and implementation initiatives,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 10+ years in network engineering and security operations.
• 6+ years with Palo Alto firewalls in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Own centralized firewall management through Panorama and perform upgrades.
• Design and govern security policies with zero-trust and least-privilege.
• Configure security zones, VPNs, and App-ID policies; troubleshoot NAT and routing.
• Lead network segmentation and microsegmentation initiatives.
• Architect and troubleshoot HA deployments (Active/Passive, Active/Active).
• Collaborate with SOC, infrastructure, cloud, and apps teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop runbooks and standards.
