Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a highly experienced Master Network & Security Engineer to design, operate, troubleshoot, and improve enterprise network-security infrastructure. The role focuses on Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, Cortex XSIAM, and Strata Logging Service.

The Senior Engineer will act as a technical escalation point for complex incidents, lead architecture initiatives, and collaborate with SOC, infrastructure, cloud, and leadership teams to reduce risk while ensuring highly

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of network engineering and security operations experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience in a production enterprise.
• Operational experience with Palo Alto Panorama including policy management and upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of HA deployments, VPNs, routing, and network segmentation.
• Experience with cloud and on-premise security integrations and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto NGFW environments.
• Manage firewall operations via Palo Alto Panorama and ensure policy inheritance and backups.
• Develop and enforce zero-trust, least-privilege security policies.
• Troubleshoot NAT, VPNs, URL Filtering, Threat Prevention, and logging across platforms.
• Guide network segmentation, microsegmentation, and secure interconnection between users, apps, and data-centers.
• Mentor engineers and drive incident response and root-cause analyses.
