Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Manager of Multimedia Development to lead a team of audio, visual, graphics, and animation developers for K-12 learning experiences. You will oversee concepting, design, and development and ensure alignment with instructional goals and accessibility requirements.

The role involves people and operational leadership, collaborating with curriculum development, product management, and external partners to deliver high-quality multimedia efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in education, curriculum, or similar area preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of multimedia, graphics, or animation development experience required, with assets to support asynchronous virtual learning preferred.
• Proven ability to lead a team, create a supportive work climate, and deliver results as a team.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines while producing highly accurate, detail-oriented work; editing/proofreading/fact checking experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of education management systems, learning management systems, and/or content management systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Azure DevOps, and ability to learn other software programs quickly.
• Must enjoy a challenging work environment with flexibility, creativity, and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of multimedia developers and support career growth for direct reports.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including curriculum development and product management.
• Refine and prioritize curriculum development features; validate MVP concepts and analyze feedback from partners.
• Direct internal and vendor multimedia teams to meet Pearson’s standards and requirements.
• Plan and align resources to ensure successful project execution.
• Design visually appealing interactive products and experiences.
• Understand tool capabilities and inform design solutions and instructional strategies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of state and national curriculum and NSQ standards.
• Provide expertise to stakeholders and guide strategic decisions involving content and learners.
