Job summary

Accuity is seeking a Manager of Appeals & Denials to lead inpatient DRG downgrades and the denials appeals process remotely. You will oversee staff, audit outcomes, mentor CDI specialists, and strengthen client relationships by delivering high-quality appeal letters.

You will collaborate with the CDI, Coding, DRG teams, and client healthcare teams to ensure accurate documentation reflecting the patient’s true clinical picture while complying with coding guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in appeals/denials or coding in inpatient setting.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS and modifiers.
• Experience with revenue cycle management.
• Ability to supervise remote teams and drive quality.

Responsibilities

• Distributes daily assignments and monitors updates.
• Reviews client denials and determines next steps.
• Supports development of quality appeal letters.
• Conducts audits to ensure quality and compliance.
• Mentors and evaluates staff.
• Collaborates with CDI, Coding, DRG teams and clinicians.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and external requirements.
