Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Make Ready Designer to support overhead utility pole design and joint-use engineering for electric distribution. This remote role focuses on turning field data into construction-ready make-ready designs, applying NESC clearance requirements and identifying attachment conflicts.

You will work with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, AutoCAD, and other design systems, collaborating with teams across projects to ensure accurate deliverables and compliance while

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of make-ready engineering or related design work
• Experience with utility pole design and NESC applications
• Proficiency in CAD or MicroStation and related design platforms
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders
• Review field data, pole information, attachments, and conditions
• Evaluate joint-use attachments, NESC clearances, and pole loading
• Develop construction-ready make-ready designs (replacements, transfers, attachments)
• Apply NESC requirements and client design criteria
• Perform end-to-end make-ready design and support distribution design
• Conduct permitting and easement research
• Collaborate to resolve design conflicts and discrepancies
• Use DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, PoleForeman, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS
• Perform quality-control reviews of deliverables
• Support additional project and design tasks
