Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Make Ready Designer to support overhead pole design and joint-use projects for electric distribution. This remote role focuses on turning field data into accurate, construction-ready designs with attention to NESC clearances and attachments.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in make-ready or related design, proficiency with CAD/MicroStation, and experience with DDS/Katapult/O-Calc or similar platforms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in make-ready engineering, joint-use, or electric power distribution design (3+ years preferred).
• Proven utility pole design experience including NESC application and clearance analysis.
• CAD or MicroStation proficiency; familiarity with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders to spec, on time and within budget.
• Review field data, pole information, attachments, and existing conditions for design accuracy.
• Develop construction-ready make-ready designs including pole transfers and attachments.
• Apply NESC requirements and client design criteria to ensure compliant solutions.
• Perform end-to-end make-ready design and support related overhead distribution tasks.
