Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking experienced Make Ready Designers to support overhead make-ready and joint-use design for major electric utilities. This remote opportunity requires expertise in pole design, NESC clearances, pole loading, and construction-ready design packages.

Applicants should have 2+ years in make-ready or electric distribution design, proficiency with CAD/MicroStation, and familiarity with DDS, Katapult, or O-Calc. A valid U.S. work status and license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred
• Minimum 2 years in make-ready engineering, joint-use, or electric power distribution design (3+ years preferred)
• Experience with utility pole design, NESC, clearance analysis, and construction-ready packages
• Proficiency with CAD/MicroStation; experience with DDS, Katapult, O-Calc or similar platforms
• Knowledge of power distribution construction practices; ability to learn proprietary systems
• Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and ability to pass background/MVR screenings
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Complete make-ready and overhead pole design work orders to meet quality, schedule, and budget
• Review field data, pole information, and attachment details to resolve conflicts
• Evaluate joint-use attachments, NESC clearances, and pole loading
• Develop construction-ready make-ready designs including pole replacements and attachments
• Apply NESC requirements, standards, and client design criteria
• Perform end-to-end make-ready and joint-use design and support related overhead distribution work
• Conduct permitting and easement research
• Collaborate to resolve design conflicts and constructability concerns
• Use DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, PoleForeman, AutoCAD, MicroStation and GIS
• Support quality-control reviews and additional project responsibilities
