Job summary

Intone Inc. seeks an experienced Mainframe Senior Architect to optimize IBM zEnterprise performance and capacity management for a six-month remote contract. The role focuses on 80% performance management and 20% capacity planning in a large z/OS environment.

Responsibilities include real-time analysis of CPU/memory, tuning WLM, analyzing SMF/RMF data, capacity forecasting, and cost optimization. Strong leadership and cross‑team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe performance management and tuning.
• Strong expertise with IBM z/OS and IBM Z architecture.
• Experience in large multi-LPAR, Parallel Sysplex environments.
• Deep knowledge of WLM configuration and tuning.
• Experience analyzing SMF and RMF performance data.
• Proficiency with performance reporting tools (SAS/MXG, OMEGAMON).
• Experience with Db2, CICS, IMS, MQ workloads and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize IBM z/OS mainframe performance.
• Analyze CPU, memory, storage, and workload performance in real time.
• Tune WLM policies and workload configurations.
• Develop reporting and dashboards using SAS/MXG, Excel, and OMEGAMON.
• Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams on recommendations.
• Forecast capacity and model trends; assess MIPS/MSUs requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in mainframe performance.
