Job summary

Ensono seeks a Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. The role requires 3–5 years of specialized experience in enterprise mainframe environments and strong troubleshooting skills.

This position supports ongoing operations, participates in incident and change management, and may involve agile and waterfall projects. Remote-friendly with opportunities to work from home or Ensono offices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Extensive experience in mainframe application development, support and maintenance.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM; SDLC methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Experience with enterprise ticketing systems and their workflows (ServiceNow, Service Manager).
• Handle incidents, service requests, and change requests in waterfall and agile contexts.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex applications and integrations.
• Conduct performance tuning of Mainframe applications and database queries.
• Create technical documentation for business and support teams.
• Align implementation options with functional and technical requirements.
