Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer with strong expertise in CICS TS and WAS, supporting mainframe clients in a remote United States setting. The role covers installation, maintenance, and upgrades of z/OS and related OEM software, plus 24x7 support across time zones.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years on the zSeries platform, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication. Remote work is supported with client-facing responsibilities and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years on the zSeries mainframe platform with hands-on installation and maintenance of CICS TS / WAS and OEM products.
• Thorough knowledge of CICS TS, installation, and tailoring.
• Thorough knowledge of IBM SMP/E.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of CICS TS concepts.
• Experience with tools used to monitor CICS TS regions.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and multi-task under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill CSOs for mainframe z/OS customers in a timely manner relating to CICS TS and OEM software.
• Provide primary support for reported problems related to CICS TS / WAS and related OEM software products.
• Provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software products per best practices and Ensono standards.
• Prepare customer partitions for annual OS upgrade using a defined checklist.
• Support customer migrations for CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist migration of newly acquired customers addressing technical hurdles.
• Execute disaster recovery tasks with Disaster Recovery Services.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures and apply fixes.
• Upgrade or provide new options to applicable z/OS products.
