Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer to support DB2 across client environments. The role focuses on premium sysprog services, DB2 upgrades, tuning, backups, and DR planning on z/OS platforms.

The successful candidate will join a client-facing team, participate in 24/7 on-call coverage, collaborate with vendor teams, and drive performance improvements while following ITSM change control processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in DB2 administration and systems programming support.
• Knowledgeable in best practices of software management, maintenance and documentation.
• SMP/e experience.
• Experience with configuring and managing DB2 in a parallel sysplex environment.
• Ability to develop innovation, strategies, processes and best practices in software management.
• Experience with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization.
• Experience with DB2 version reviews and impact assessment for clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide premium DB2 sysprog support for Ensono mainframe clients.
• Perform DB2 software upgrades, administration and tuning.
• Collaborate with vendor personnel to resolve database problems.
• Maintain day-to-day DB2 maintenance: backups, restores, monitoring, reorganizations, DR procedures.
• Support 24x7x365 operations across multiple time zones.
• Assist with customer migrations and transitions.
• Coordinate disaster recovery tasks with DR services.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures.
