Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer specializing in DB2 to provide premium DB2 sysprog support for our mainframe clients. The role involves database upgrades, tuning, backups, restores, and 24x7 on-call coverage across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in DB2 administration and systems programming.
• Knowledgeable in software management, maintenance and documentation.
• SMP/e experience.
• Experience with DB2 in a parallel sysplex environment.
• Ability to develop strategies and best practices in software management.
• Experience with DB2 security, DR, policies and procedures.
• Experience reviewing DB2 versions and impact to clients.
• Ability to troubleshoot production DB2 issues and outages.

Responsibilities

• Provide premium DB2 sysprog support and services to Ensono mainframe clients.
• Perform mainframe database software upgrades with administration and tuning.
• Work with vendor personnel to resolve DB2 problems in a timely manner.
• Maintain day-to-day database maintenance like backups, restores, and monitoring.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and 24x7 x 365 support across time zones.
• Support customer migrations related to DB2 and OEM software products.
• Assist project managers in customer migrations and disaster recovery tasks.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures.
