Job summary

Rugby Architectural Building Products, a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, is seeking a Procurement Specialist. The role focuses on sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency.

The position is primarily remote and based out of the Mid-West or West Coast with occasional travel to branch locations. This role requires 5+ years in related fields and strong negotiation skills within the lumber industry.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience as Procurement Specialist in lumber or related building materials sectors.
• Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Excellent understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies for lumber and building materials.
• Place orders, monitor inventory levels and ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor and analyze purchasing costs to reduce expenses.
• Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain stock levels.
• Maintain records of purchases, contracts and supplier information, and report on procurement performance.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and regulations.
