Qualifications

• Experience providing customer-driven solutions and service.
• Experience performing legal research and summarizing medical records, indexing depositions and preparing exhibits.
• Experience preparing pleadings, motions, deposition summaries and discovery responses with minimal assistance.
• Knowledge of insurance, legal ethics rules and confidentiality.
• Experience with PC software and trial applications (Office, Westlaw, Trial Pad).
• Knowledge of tort and contract law and the judicial system.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorney in trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, discovery documents, motions, deposition summaries, abstracts, correspondence and legal memoranda under attorney supervision.
• Aid in organizing, summarizing and evaluating medical records for discovery and trial prep.
• Conduct investigation and discovery under limited supervision.
• Draft discovery responses and assist in witness and demonstrative evidence prep for trial.
• Assist attorney in complex depositions, hearings, trials and other settings as needed.
• Represent insured or company in small claims / conciliation court if applicable by jurisdiction.
• Review files to determine issues, records needed and possibility of settlement.
