Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a Life Underwriting Auditor for a remote role open to any location in the continental US. You will conduct detailed audits of underwriting initiatives, assess decisions for medical and financial risk, and provide actionable insights to align with pricing and regulatory requirements.

The role collaborates with Underwriting, Risk, and Training teams to develop CAPs, enhance the risk control framework, and translate findings into targeted coaching and guideline

Qualifications

• 5+ years of life insurance underwriting experience.
• Proven expertise in medical and financial underwriting.
• Strong understanding of life insurance products and risk selection.
• Ability to interpret complex medical and financial information and assess risk.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to present findings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct post issue audits of underwriting initiatives for accuracy.
• Review underwriting decisions for medical, financial, and operational soundness.
• Identify errors and trends; prepare reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate to develop CAPs and track remediation progress.
• Support enhancement of risk control framework and KRIs.
• Translate audit findings into targeted training and guidelines.
• Test and evaluate new tools and GenAI impact on underwriting.
• Design and execute targeted audits for underwriting innovation.
• Ensure audit documentation is complete for internal/regulatory review.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit frameworks.
