Qualifications

• Several years (5+ years) of experience in life insurance underwriting.
• Strong understanding of life insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and risk selection principles.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex medical and financial information and assess risk appropriately.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify patterns and root causes in audit findings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to leadership.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct post-issue audits and monitoring of new underwriting initiatives to assess technical accuracy and guideline adherence.
• Review underwriting decisions for medical, financial, and operational soundness, ensuring alignment with guidelines and risk appetite.
• Identify material errors, trends, and publish clear reports and recommendations for management.
• Collaborate with Underwriting Management and Risk Management to develop and monitor CAPs and remediation progress.
• Support enhancement of the Underwriting Risk Control Framework, including KRIs and governance standards.
• Translate audit findings into targeted training, coaching, and guideline clarifications with Training & Development.
• Provide input on innovation initiatives (tools, rules engines, GenAI) by testing impact on underwriting quality and risk.
• Assist with design and execution of targeted audits for Underwriting Innovation initiatives.
• Ensure audit documentation is complete and suitable for internal audit and regulatory review.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit frameworks, metrics, and reporting.
