Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a Life Underwriting Auditor to conduct detailed audits of underwriting initiatives across the continental US in a remote capacity. You will assess technical accuracy, guideline adherence, and risk alignment, delivering actionable reports for management.

You will collaborate with Underwriting, Risk, Training, and Innovation teams to drive CAPs, enhance the risk control framework, and translate findings into training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of life underwriting experience.
• Experience with medical and financial underwriting.
• Ability to interpret complex medical/financial information.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Discretion with sensitive information.

Responsabilités

• Conduct post issue audits and monitoring of new underwriting initiatives to assess technical accuracy, guideline adherence, quality of underwriter decisioning.
• Review underwriting decisions for medical, financial, and operational soundness, ensuring they align with guidelines, risk appetite, and mortality assumptions.
• Identify material errors, trends, and themes in audit results and prepare clear, structured reports and recommendations for management.
• Collaborate with Underwriting Management and Risk Management to develop and monitor CAPs and track remediation progress.
• Support enhancement of the Underwriting Risk Control Framework, including KRIs and governance standards.
• Translate audit findings into targeted training, coaching, and guideline clarifications with Training & Development.
• Provide input into innovation initiatives (tools, rules engines, GenAI) by testing impact on underwriting quality and risk.
• Assist with design and execution of Targeted audits for Underwriting Innovation initiatives.
• Ensure audit documentation is complete, accurate, and suitable for internal audit, governance committees, and regulatory review.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit frameworks, metrics, and reporting.
