Job summary

Valor Healthcare in Tacoma, WA is seeking a licensed mental health professional to provide evidence-based psychotherapy to veterans and military personnel. You will deliver individual and group interventions, perform psychosocial assessments, and coordinate care within an interdisciplinary team while following risk protocols and DSM-5 guidelines.

Experience with veterans’ benefits and EHR systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice independently in any state (Psychologist, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW)
• PsyPact for Psychologist is required in addition to state license
• Minimum of 2 years’ independent therapy experience
• Preferred experience: veterans and military members
• Knowledge of DSM-5 and evidence-based psychotherapies
• Familiarity with DSM-5 clinical presentations and brief interventions
• General knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment
• Knowledge of SUD, mood, anxiety, and SMI; veteran PTSD/MHC settings
• Risk assessment and crisis management skills
• Experience with Electronic Health Records and MS Office
• U.S. citizenship and residence in the United States

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group psychotherapy for health psychology presentations and related issues
• Provide cognitive screening to address functional/cognitive questions
• Offer emergency/crisis interventions to stabilize patients
• Conduct psychosocial assessments to determine patient needs and appropriate treatment
• Provide DSM diagnoses and treatment planning for patients and families
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate care
• Maintain documentation and care encounters per regulations
• Reference veterans benefits and community resources for referrals
• Follow suicide prevention guidelines and training requirements
• Ensure accessibility of care and adherence to clinical protocols
