The Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library seeks a part-time? No, full-time Library Customer Adviser at the Downtown Main Library in Cincinnati. You will assist customers with circulation, reference services, technology training, and remote inquiries, while helping with ILS routines and resource access.

You’ll support the library mission, work within diverse communities, and adapt to a range of technology tools and services. Evening/weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and ability to assist diverse patrons.
• Ability to organize materials alphabetically and numerically.
• Ability to work independently and with others in varied situations.
• Comfort with using library technology and equipment.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds; pushing carts up to 150 pounds.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends; may work from home during library closures.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions in person, by phone, email, text, or chat.
• Provide readers’ advisory and reference services, including remote patrons.
• Shelve and shelf-read materials; process holds and circulation tasks.
• Assist with meeting rooms, interagency requests, and ILS reports.
• Assist with resumes, job searches, and basic computer use.
• Explain library policies in a friendly, accessible manner.
