Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Formal Verification Scientist to translate advanced human-written proofs into precise Lean-based formalizations. This fully remote, hourly contract role offers 10–40 hours per week for mathematicians who thrive at the intersection of rigorous proof construction and cutting-edge CS.

You will translate informal arguments into clean, structured machine-verifiable proofs, collaborate with AI researchers, and push the boundaries of what proof assistants can express and automate.

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Mathematics or related field.
Strong proof-writing across algebra, analysis, topology, logic.
Experience with Lean/Coq/Isabelle or similar systems.

Responsibilities

Translate informal proofs into Lean 4 and related systems with clarity.
Analyze proofs, identify gaps, and formalize sub-structures.
Construct formalizations that test limits of proof assistants.
Collaborate with AI researchers to improve verification pipelines.
Create readable, reproducible proof scripts following best practices.
Advise on proof decomposition and lemma selection for models.
Formalize classical proofs and compare with textbook arguments.
Investigate where automated provers fail due to complexity.
