Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Lean 4 Proof Engineer to translate informal mathematical arguments into machine-verifiable Lean 4 formalizations. The role emphasizes clarity, structure, and correctness within AI training contexts.

You will analyze proofs, identify gaps, and craft formalizations that push current proof assistants to their limits, collaborating with AI researchers on verification pipelines. This is a fully remote hourly contract with 10–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Logic, or closely related field.
• Strong foundation in rigorous proof writing across algebra, analysis, topology, logic, or discrete mathematics.
• Experience with Lean (Lean 3 or Lean 4), Coq, Isabelle/HOL, Agda, or comparable formal systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate informal mathematical proofs into precise, machine-verifiable Lean 4 formalizations.
• Analyze proofs to identify gaps, hidden assumptions, and formalizable sub-structures.
• Construct formalizations that test the limits of proof assistants, especially where automation struggles.
