Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Mathematical Formalization Specialist to translate informal proofs into Lean proofs (Lean 3 or Lean 4). This fully remote, hourly contract role rewards deep mathematical expertise and hands-on experience with formal proof systems.

You will analyze proofs, identify gaps, and collaborate with researchers to design and test verification strategies, improving reliability of AI reasoning and mechanized mathematics across projects, with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Logic, or Theoretical Computer Science.
• Strong foundation in formal proofs across algebra, analysis, topology, logic, or discrete math.
• Hands-on experience with Lean (Lean 3 or Lean 4) preferred; familiarity with Coq, Isabelle/HOL, or Agda.

Responsibilities

• Translate informal proofs into Lean proofs with emphasis on clarity and correctness.
• Analyze domain proofs to identify gaps, assumptions, and formalizable sub-structures.
• Construct formalizations that test limits of proof assistants where automation fails.
