Job summary

Alignerr seeks a Lean 4 Proof Engineer to translate advanced mathematical arguments into machine-verifiable Lean 4 proofs, pushing the frontier of formalization and automation. This is a fully remote, flexible hourly contract, with a commitment of 10–40 hours per week.

You will translate informal proofs into structured formalizations, analyze gaps, and collaborate with researchers to refine verification strategies and proof scripts in line with best practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a mathematics-related field.
• Strong track record in formal proof writing across algebra, analysis, topology, or logic.
• Hands-on experience with Lean (Lean 3 or Lean 4), Coq, Isabelle/HOL, or comparable proof systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate informal mathematical proofs into clean, machine-verifiable Lean 4 formalizations.
• Analyze proofs to identify gaps, hidden assumptions, and formalizable sub-structures.
• Construct formalizations that test and extend proof assistants’ capabilities.
• Investigate where automated provers break down and explain underlying reasons.
