Alignerr is seeking Formal Verification Scientists to translate rigorous mathematics into Lean 4 proofs for advanced AI systems. This fully remote hourly contract role targets mathematicians who enjoy formal reasoning and machine-verifiable proofs.

You will translate informal arguments, analyze proofs, and develop clean, reproducible Lean scripts while collaborating with AI researchers to improve verification pipelines.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in mathematics, logic or related field.
• Strong ability to write rigorous, machine-verifiable proofs in Lean or similar systems.
• Experience with formalization projects and proof strategies.

Responsabilités

• Translate informal mathematical proofs into Lean 4 proofs with emphasis on clarity and correctness.
• Analyze proofs to identify hidden assumptions, gaps, and formalizable sub-structures.
• Construct formalizations that push the limits of proof assistants.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to design and evaluate verification pipelines.
• Develop readable, reproducible proof scripts aligned with Lean idioms.
• Guide proof decomposition, lemma selection, and structuring techniques.
• Investigate where automated provers break down and document why.
• Formalize classical proofs and compare machine-verifiable structures to textbook arguments.
• Create Lean proofs that reveal deeper patterns or generalizations.
