Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer for a fully remote role based out of Chicago, IL. You will lead transmission-line projects for a large utility client, oversee a small team, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with in-house and client teams.

The ideal candidate holds ABET-accredited BS (Civil or Electrical) with MS counts toward experience, has experience with 69–765 kV lines and PLS-CADD, and can travel occasionally for site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (ABET).
• Master's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (ABET) will count toward years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and design Transmission Line projects including route selection, materials, and construction management.
• Prepare project construction documents such as drawings, specifications and BOM.
• Develop design alternatives and cost estimates.
• Design transmission lines from 69 kV to 765 kV.
• Model designs using PLS-CADD.
• Attend meetings and ensure safety and compliance with plans and schedules.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to junior engineers.
• Lead transmission projects and coordinate work across teams.
