Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Lead Substation Physical Engineer to join a leader in Technical Services. The role directs physical substation design across complex projects, ensuring safe, reliable power infrastructure and compliance. You will perform field support, QA/QC, and design reviews from concept to completion.

Remote-US based candidates only; travel as needed. Compensation ranges from $107,900 to $195,050 annually, with opportunities for PE license support and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies and lightning protection analysis.
• Strong communication and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support substation physical design projects to ensure technical excellence
• Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to align project expectations
• Perform QA/QC reviews on design packages for accuracy and compliance
• Design and review substation drawings and layouts
• Create and verify bills of materials for project components
• Conduct site visits to gather data and validate designs
