Airswift is seeking a Lead Substation Electrical Engineer for Reading, PA, with remote or facility-based work options. The contract-to-hire role focuses on designing substations, performing advanced system studies, and leading a technical team within the Power Networks group.

The ideal candidate holds a US PE license, 12+ years of substation experience, and strong leadership and communication skills to deliver high-quality engineering deliverables and client presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in substation design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design for 69kV+ switchyards, including layouts and equipment sizing.
• Create specifications, drawings, and procurement support.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination) and grounding.
• Provide technical direction and supervise engineers and designers.
• Ensure QA against Worley and client standards.
• Assist with project proposals and client presentations.
• Travel to job sites as required.
