For our client, we are seeking a Lead Substation Engineer – Technical Project Lead to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will lead the technical execution of high-voltage and EHV substation EPC projects, guiding multidisciplinary engineering efforts from concept through energization. The position requires strong technical judgment, disciplined project coordination, and close collaboration across engineering teams to ensure designs are sound, timely, and aligned to project goals. You will also help shape engineering strategy, resolve complex design issues, and mentor emerging technical leaders within the organization. Location: Remote. Compensation: $107,900 – $195,050 annually.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the overall technical lead for HV and EHV substation EPC projects
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across various substation disciplines
• Establish the project's technical approach and engineering execution strategy
• Provide technical leadership and make key decisions on design issues
• Coordinate technical interfaces between engineering disciplines and project teams
• Oversee engineering from conceptual design through energization
• Mentor engineers and develop future project technical leads

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
• 8+ years of relevant experience in utility substation design and engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Experience as a lead engineer or technical lead for HV/EHV substation projects
• Strong knowledge of substation physical and protection & control design
• Understanding of industry standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, and IEEE/ANSI
• Ability to meet deadlines under high-pressure situations
