Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer in the Substation department. The role involves planning, coordinating and performing foundation and structural steel design calculations, using engineering formulas and software where appropriate.

The Lead Engineer will guide projects, interact with clients, and ensure designs meet standards. Requirements include a Civil/Structural ABET degree and a Professional SE license, with a preference for 7 years of experience and knowledge of substation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
Professional Structural Engineer (SE) registration is required.
Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience is preferred.
Knowledge of electrical utility substation layout and design is preferred.

Responsibilities

Applies standard engineering techniques to complete engineering tasks.
Develops plans, specifications, and observation reports for quality and compliance.
Works with technicians and engineers to coordinate design aspects of projects.
Performs detailed engineering design and calculations using software and manual methods.
Communicates effectively with clients and supports multi-discipline projects.
May participate in marketing, sales and business development activities.
