Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to lead design for substation projects. The role requires planning, scheduling, and coordination of detailed engineering phases, with emphasis on foundation and structural steel design.

You will perform calculations, guide design decisions, and support client interactions. The ideal candidate holds a PE/SE license, ABET-accredited degree, and 7+ years of experience in structural engineering within utilities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil/Structural Engineering degree required.
• Professional Structural Engineer (SE) registration required.
• Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical utility substation layout and design preferred.
• Experience with MathCAD, STAAD, AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies current engineering techniques to complete tasks.
• Develops plans, specifications, and observation reports.
• Coordinates design aspects of projects with other disciplines.
• Prepares reports and correspondence on project direction.
