Job summary

Oscar Health, Inc. seeks a Lead Physician for its Virtual Health Assessment team. The role oversees APPs (NPs and PAs) and delivers telemedicine care within a multidisciplinary setting, reporting to the Director of Virtual Health Assessment.

The position is remote with a Monday–Friday schedule, some late shifts, and occasional travel for team meetings and events. Requires Florida licensure and multi-state eligibility, Internal Medicine/Family Medicine/Medicine-Pediatrics training, and 5+ years

Qualifications

• Must have full practice licensure in good standing in Florida plus at least three of the listed states (Arizona; Arkansas; California; Colorado; District of Columbia; Georgia; Illinois; Massachusetts; Michigan; Nevada; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; North Carolina; Ohio; Pennsylvania; Texas; or Virginia).
• Completion of medical residency program; specialty in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Medicine-Pediatrics required.
• MD or DO from an ACGME accredited medical school
• ABMS Board Certification corresponding to completed residency program or additional training
• 5+ years of primary care (or Urgent care) experience
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in GA, TX, FL or IMLCC
• Experience in NP and PA supervision
• Spanish language fluency (bonus)
• Prior telehealth experience (bonus)
• 1+ years experience supervising teams, including NP/PA supervision (bonus)
• Experience data-driven in population health management, quality benchmarks, and productivity (bonus)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct high quality, safe patient care via telemedicine within a multidisciplinary team
• Supervise APPs (NPs and PAs) delivering care in a virtual environment
• Clinical escalation point for the care delivery team as needed
• Support development of clinical guidelines and care model improvements
• Conduct quality assurance audits and meet state supervisory audit requirements
• Ensure a culture of patient safety and high-quality care
• Be accountable for patient care quality and member experience
• Conduct service recovery for Oscar patients
• Develop and manage your team, including addressing performance issues
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
