Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior mechanical engineer for a remote role with occasional visits to a client in the Seattle area. You will contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including modification packages and drawings, analyses, and procurement documents.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, developing cost estimates, and interfacing with clients at offices and sites. A BS/MS in engineering and 10+ years in power are expected; PE is beneficial.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
• Minimum 10 years in the power industry.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and nuclear plant mechanical design.
• PE license beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify operating nuclear power plant packages.
• Prepare functional mechanical drawings and drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations for modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study options and modifications for operating plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for client work scopes.
• Visit client offices/plant sites to interface and present tasks.
• Lead engineering project teams.
