Qualifications

• Extensive life underwriting expertise; authority to adjudicate complex, high-value cases and guide escalated decisions.
• Minimum 5 years of life underwriting experience; proven ability to lead teams and manage complex case decisions.
• Experience with automated underwriting platforms and QA; ability to manage quality control.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; collaborate with reinsurers and vendors.
• Coach underwriters to build digital fluency and adopt new tools and workflows; focus on ethics and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert judgment on highly complex and escalated cases; ensure consistency with guidelines and mortality objectives.
• Oversee complex case adjudication during peak volumes; promote analytics usage and modern platforms.
• Lead and develop underwriter team; set priorities and ensure SLA adherence and quality.
• Use analytics dashboards to track mortality, placement, cycle time, and referral rates; drive improvements.
• Pilot and validate new underwriting technologies; document business cases and measure outcomes.
• Coach and upskill underwriters in analytical thinking and customer-centric practices.
