Job summary

Meritus College is seeking a Director of Instruction and Learner Experience to own the learner-facing academic experience, including what students study and how it is taught. You will drive the instruction, program design, and learner services teams while building new processes and policies for a competency-based, online model that works for working adults.

You will report to the Chief Academic Officer and collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure accreditation readiness and alignment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree strongly preferred in higher education administration or related field.
• 8+ years in higher education with direct program-building experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, review, and revision of every academic program offered; ensure alignment to labor market outcomes and accreditation standards.
• Define what good teaching looks like and hold the instructional team to it, including course facilitation and grading standards.
• Own full learner support functions: advising, coaching, tutoring, accessibility, and persistence outreach.
• Design and run assessment systems, maintain policy and accreditation readiness, and monitor academic metrics like persistence and course completion.
