Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer (ISSO) to drive RMF execution and PQC strategy for U.S.-based systems. You will lead end-to-end ATO processes, maintain SSPs and evidence, and guide crypto-architecture modernization across enterprise environments.

The role emphasizes risk management, regulatory alignment, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and program teams to ensure quantum-resilient security postures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, governance, risk, and compliance with RMF and ATO support.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF (SP 800-37), SP 800-53, FedRAMP and FISMA.
• Experience evaluating PKI, key management, digital certificates, and encryption tech.
• Knowledge of Post-Quantum Cryptography concepts and quantum threats.
• Experience with PQC readiness assessments, cryptographic inventories, migrations.
• Ability to translate regulatory and technical requirements into actionable guidance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ISSO for assigned systems, owning RMF execution and supporting ATO outcomes.
• Lead security assessment and PQC integration within customer environments.
• Execute full RMF lifecycle: categorization, control implementation, assessment readiness, authorization, continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, cryptographic inventories, evidence.
• Evaluate cryptographic architectures and risks in PKI, key management, and crypto ecosystems.
• Support cryptographic modernization, crypto-agility planning, PQC transition roadmaps.
• Assess technologies for quantum-readiness and implementation feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to remediate vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
