Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer (ISSO) to own RMF execution and drive PQC strategy across federal and regulated environments. You will partner with engineering, product, and customers to advance cryptographic readiness and ensure secure, compliant system authorizations.

The role requires strong expertise in RMF, NIST standards, and cryptographic modernization, with a focus on PQC readiness and risk management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cybersecurity, governance, risk and compliance with RMF and ATO experience.
• Experience evaluating cryptographic implementations, PKI, key management, and certificates.
• Familiarity with NIST RMF, SP 800-37, SP 800-53, FedRAMP and FISMA guidance.
• Knowledge of Post-Quantum Cryptography concepts and quantum threats.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ISSO for assigned systems and lead RMF execution.
• Lead security assessment and PQC integration in customer environments.
• Execute full RMF lifecycle: categorization, controls, assessment readiness, authorization, continuous monitoring.
• Develop, maintain, and validate SSPs, POA&Ms, cryptographic inventories and evidence.
• Evaluate cryptographic architectures and risks in PKI, encryption and key management.
• Support crypto modernization, including crypto-agility planning and PQC transitions.
• Assess emerging technologies for quantum-ready security and compliance feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and program teams to remediate findings and gaps.
