Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer (ISSO) to own RMF execution and ATO outcomes for assigned systems, with a focus on Post-Quantum Cryptography strategy and compliance across customer environments.

You will lead PQC integration, cryptographic inventories, and artifact development, ensuring alignment with NIST guidance and agency requirements. Remote work with national scope options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, governance, risk and compliance including RMF execution and ATO support.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, SP 800-37/53 and FedRAMP/FISMA.
• Experience evaluating cryptographic implementations, PKI and encryption tech.
• Knowledge of PQC concepts, quantum threats, crypto-agility, and quantum-resistant algorithms.
• Experience with readiness assessments, inventories, migrations, or modernization initiatives.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ISSO, owning end-to-end RMF execution and ATO support.
• Lead the integration of PQC within customer environments per NIST guidance.
• Execute full RMF lifecycle: categorization, control implementation, assessment readiness, authorization, continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, cryptographic inventories, and evidence.
• Evaluate cryptographic architectures and risks in PKI, key management, and certificates.
• Drive PQC transition strategies and crypto-modernization roadmaps.
• Assess new technologies for quantum-readiness and security feasibility.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to remediate vulnerabilities and gaps.
