Job summary

Ad Hoc is seeking a Lead Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to guide the first production bridge between Library of Congress ECS and DLS applications. This hands-on role is an 80/20 split, directing architecture and mentoring engineers while coding core features.

You will design integration layers, own API contracts, and drive scalable, event-driven pipelines using AWS and Terraform, across Python/Django and Java stacks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on software design and development experience.
• Production Python/Django and Java experience in a mixed stack.
• Strong cloud infra experience with AWS and Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 3-5 person engineering team; set coding standards and ADRs.
• Design, build, and own integration layers connecting Enterprise systems.
• Develop frontend/backend features in Python/Django and Java.
• Create scalable, event-driven pipelines on AWS; manage Terraform infra.
